Sometimes labeled "18 U.S.C. 2257" on adult sites. That's a U.S. statute, and it isn't what governs sixx.me. Here's what actually applies, and why.
1. Why this page exists under this name
Adult platforms conventionally publish a "2257 statement" (named after 18 U.S.C. § 2257, a U.S. federal law requiring producers of sexually explicit content to keep age-verification records for performers). Visitors and payment processors familiar with the adult industry expect to find a page like this in the footer, so we've kept the link where they'd look for it.
18 U.S.C. 2257 is a U.S. statute. sixx.me does not operate in the United States. The platform is available only in the EU and UK (see our Terms §1), and U.S. federal recordkeeping law does not govern a business that isn't producing or distributing content there. What follows describes the EU/UK-equivalent obligations that do apply.
2. What actually applies here
Under EU and UK law, the relevant obligations are age verification of both creators and buyers, and standard identity/KYC recordkeeping tied to payments and anti-fraud rules, not a U.S.-style performer-record statute. In practice:
- Every creator completes identity verification, including proof of age, before their first upload is accepted.
- Buyer age assurance is being rolled out market by market, in line with each market's specific requirements, rather than claimed uniformly before it's actually shipped everywhere.
- Verification and identity records are retained only as long as legally required, and handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
